Lyon Airport Arrivals Guide

Lyon Airport Arrivals And Procedures

As your flight touches down at Lyon Airport it will taxi to the parking bay to which it has been allocated. Passengers will be required to remain in their seats until the aircraft has come to a complete standstill and the ‘Fasten Seat Belts’ signs have been switched off. When the aircraft is in position in the parking bay, the Ground Staff at the airport will attach either the staircase or airbridge to the aircraft so that passengers can disembark the aircraft safely. Once these are in place you wil bealloed to exit the aircraft and make your way to the airport Terminal.

Remember: Ensure to collect all your belonging from the aircraft before you disembark and check the overhead lockers and the pockets on the back of the seats in front of you.

As with any other International airport, passengers landing at Lyon airport are required to clear Passport Control and security before entering the country. Passengers are required to present a valid passport and any other documentation they may need to enter France. It is advisable to check that you have all the reuired documentation before you travel.

Baggage Reclaim Area

Once you have successfully cleared Passport Control and security, you can make your way to the Baggage Reclaim area. The Baggage Reclaim area is where you can collect any items of luggage you may have checked-in for your flight. In the Baggage Reclaim area you will find several carousels and each flight arrival at Lyon Airport is allocated its own carousel. There are overhead monitors located above the carousels and displayed on these monitors are the flight number of the flight whose luggage it is processing. You will need to locate the carousel that displays your flight number and await your luggage.

Once you have reclaimed your luggage, you can then proceed to the main Arrivals Lobby Area. There are trolleys available inside the Arrivals to help assist you with your luggage.

If you are traveling with hand luggage and do not have any hold luggage, you will be able to bypass this process and make your way through to the main Arrivals Lobby Area.

The Main Arrivals Lobby Area

The main Arrivals Lobby is where all passengers arriving at Lyon Airport will need to pass through and it is the main meeting point at the airport. If you are being collected at the airport by a member of your family or friends, this is where you will probably be greeted by them. If you have pre-booked your transfer to and from Lyon Airport or you are travelling with a package that has transfers included, this is normally where your representative will greet you. If you are unsure where your representative will greet you, you should contact the company you booked your travel with.

Outside the main arrivals area, you will find all the different forms of transport such as local buses, taxi and coach services.

There are also bus services that connect passengers with Lyon itself and these provide a quick and cost effective form of transfer.

Throughout the Winter months there are several services that connect passengers to the many different ski resorts that are close to Lyon Airport.

Car Hire

In the main arrivals area, you will find all the car hire companies that are based at the airport and if you have pre-booked your car hire in advance (always recommended) or wish to hire a car from the airport, you will need to make your way to the appropriate desk. You will be required to present the relevant documents such as driving licence, booking for or voucher so that you can complete your reservation. You will then be issued with your car and keys and then directed to where your car is parked.

There is a direct rail link from Lyon Airport that connects passengers to many towns and cities such as Paris and Marseille. The train station is only a few hundred metres from the Terminal building and is linked via a covered walkway.
